Basically, you need to replace the paper capacitors
(i.e. "black beauty") with orange drop or similar
capacitors.
Disc ceramics are fine for higher frequency r.f.
bypassing, but don't do that good a job on audio.
Conversely, orange drops don't work very well for r.f.
bypassing. The manufacturers knew what they were
doing when they used paper capacitors in some circuits
and disc ceramics in other circuits.
Thus, if you run into a bad disc ceramic, replace it
with another disc ceramic and replace the paper
capacitors with orange drops.
