I would love to find a list of small market AM stns that play older format
music, etc (To listen to on an HQ-120-X for on topicness :). Of course the
problem is stations often change w/o warning. My last trip thru Lynchburg
VA was surprised to hear some Big Band and id'd WBLT in Bedford. It
faded out not far up Rt 29. Even the ads for contemporaty business sounded
vintage! Here in Norfolk area we are getting WDMV up on the eastern shore
propagating over the bay just nicely, and locally have WJOI 1230, and WMBG
in Williamsburg, another 740 AM but only abt 1Kw by day. I managed to
get an aircheck tape made of WQEW just before they switched format but
there sure wern't very many ads, and $$$ determines the success or failure
of anything. I'd love to travel around, get a motel near these small market
old format stations and make airchecks before they all dissappear!
