Hi Al,
Please don't say anything yet, but I'm trying to get Les Locklear to go
in on this as prime guy. He's already established as the historian of
the SP-600 geneology, which happens to already be installed on that site.
I offered to back him up with some technical webmastering. I'm not a
"super pro" at that, but have put together some websites for my business.
Already see what's wrong there, which you probably already know. When
you moved it/changed the URL, many of the links didn't update.
The selection of downloadables is interesting, with some unique pieces,
but does reflect the prior owner's interest in selling hard copy copies
rather than providing free downloads or links to them. For example, a
number of the manuals offered for sale are available on bama. So, if you
didn't want the bandwidth load, it could simply link to bama. I think
that's how they handled it on the Hallicrafters site.
I suspect Les already has a good deal of additional material already in
his head. He may be looking it over as you read this.
Of course, now that I've jumped the gun, he'll turn me down.
Barry
