[Hammarlund] New List Changes

I just had a very informative conversation with system owner, Alan Waller,
K3TKJ. He has requested that all the lists now automatically reply to the list,
not the original sender exclusively. The thinking here, is that upon reading
through three years of archives, many good questions were answered in private
and the answers never shared with all list subscribers. The sharing of
information is what these lists are for, after all.
Although I can set the list to reply to sender, as it used to be, I am not going
to do that for the present time. I realize this will be a bit of an adjustment
for some, and perhaps a little financial burden for others who pay by the
download. If you wish to reply in private, simply type the address of the person
and send your message in private. The 'reply' will go to the list now, not the
sender.
If after a reasonable period of time it is obvious that this list is suffering
from lethargy or excessive bandwidth, I may reset it to reply to sender as the
default. Let us give it a fair try this way and allow ourselves the chance to
become accustomed to a new way of Hammarlund life.
The differences between the old system and the new one are considerable. The
benefits to list subscribers are many. Read and save your 'Welcome' message,
visit the member link, read the material, learn how to handle the various
functions via the web site and enjoy the lists. If I can be of assistance,
contact me at the address shown at the bottom of the screen.
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding and adjustments to the new and
improved Hammarlund mail list.
