I believe that the original poster asked what the characteristics of the
HQ-170 were. It sounded as if he had little experience with BA radios. The
main thing to know about a HQ-170, is that it is a ham-band rcvr, as
opposed to a general coverage unit. If he bought the thing thinking that he
could listen to the BBC, he's in for some disappointment. I agree with your
comments re the HQ-180. I have one also, and it gets a lot of use.
