[Hammarlund] Painting SP-600 Panel

GE list.  I stripped my JX-17 panel today.  It was a lot easier that a 390
with epoxy paint.  My question is can I spray a zinc chromate primer on b4 I
paint?  My concern is the red lettering appears not to be as deeply engraved
as the remaining lettering and I'm afraid of filling in the lettering.  Is
there a self priming paint that will work for the jx-17?  I did not sand the
panel.  I used a pressure washer to cut the paint out of the lettering.
