[Hammarlund] Missing Variable cap shields on 180's

I'm always checking out eBay for Hammarlund "opportunities".

Lately I've noticed virtually every HQ-180 (and/or 180A) that shows an
inside view is missing the 'box' shields over the main & bandspread variable
capacitors. In fact, with so many showing up with missing shields it seems
almost exceptional to find one WITH the shields.

Certainly so many shields can't have been removed/lost? Did at some point
Hammarlund just quit shielding the main/bandspread tuning caps?
