Does the device appear in the /dev directory? If not, then the driver
is not being loaded.

Does the Kenwood program run as a native OS X program or under Windows in a VM?

When I first discovered the problem (could not get fldigi or flrig rig control to work with macOS 10.12), the first thing I suspected was Silicon Labs VCO Driver. I downloaded and installed a fresh version of the SiLabsUSBDriverDisk.dmg. The release note for the CP210X v4 does not mention macOS 10.12 but it installed okay.
