Good to hear from you again. I assume you were talking about the Silicon Labs driver rather than the TI chipset used in the Kenwood TS-590S and TS-590S. When I first discovered the problem (could not get fldigi or flrig rig control to work with macOS 10.12), the first thing I suspected was Silicon Labs VCO Driver. I downloaded and installed a fresh version of the SiLabsUSBDriverDisk.dmg. The release note for the CP210X v4 does not mention macOS 10.12 but it installed okay.
===
This release includes the Macintosh OSX driver for the Intel and
PowerPC Platforms versions 10.5, 10.6, 10.7, 10.8,
10.9, 10.10 and 10.11.
===
The undated driver did not fix the fldigi/flrig problem; however, it does work with the Kenwood control program for the TS-590SG so I no longer suspect the driver.
When I try flrig standalone and go to the setup, the “SL_USBtoUART" device is not listed as one of the “Ser. Port” selection options and “NONE” is displayed. This failure to find the SL driver is probably the reason I cannot get fldigi/flrig rig control to work under macOS 10.12. The SL's driver is recognized under OS X 10.11.
I do not know if this is a fldigi/flrig issue or if something is wrong in macOS 10.12 or the Silicon Lab VPC Driver.
Rich K6LE does not have the problem but he is using a different setup with K3. I tried both RigCAT and Hamlib in fldigi that work fine with OS X 10.11 but neither work with macOS 10.12.
Dave, W1HKJ, cannot duplicate the problem because his test Mac Mini is a 2009 version that is not supported by macOS 10.12.
