Kyp,
Welcome to the list. The KX3 and the Mac is a great combo and you'll find lots of software for your use.
Definitely take a look at the entire Fl* series, particularly Fldigi and Flrig. Fldigi does nearly all of the digital modes and can do easy rig control and logging. Look at Flrig if you want a bit more detail in your rig control. RUMlogNG was a great recommendation (by Ron) for free logging - Tom is very responsive, also uses Elecraft gear so it works(!), it interfaces nicely with Fldigi, and it is available in the App Store for download and automatic updates. The other big set of digital modes are the JT* modes (JT6/JT9) and those can be handled with WSJT-X which includes an OS X version.
Let me offer a bit of shameless self-promotion for the website www.machamradio.com. There I try to gather news and info about all of the new software, new updates and releases, and more. You'll also find links to a lot of software as well as a forum for discussing any topics of interest.
Again, welcome to the list.

Thanks for the hospitality.
I have a KX3 and MacBook Air
Looking for mostly freeware for rig control with waterfall display and the ability to do digital modes.
I currently do not use any rig control software and have been out of the loop since lightning took out my shack a few years ago. I just purchased the KX3 and looking to do a little something different.
I did learn CW for testing, however I never used it. I do want to relearn it but with my busy schedule, it seems impossible.
Good morning to all, and to all a good day!
