This is a tip for fldigi/OX X users: Once you have fldigi working correct, save your configuration, open your .fldigi folder to the Finder, right-click on the file "fldigi_def.xml" and select the "Compress…" option. This will save a zipped version of your fldigi settings in the same folder.

When you later mess around with new fldigi options and get things messed up, all you have to do is quit fldigi, trash (or remove) the fldigi_def.xml file, double click on the fldigi_def.xml.zip file and restart fldigi. Bingo you are back to where you were last good.

To me this is easier than trying to remember the 200++ fldigi setup options but recognize is you zip a bad .xml file, you will have the same errors when you restart using the zipped version. From time to time, I trash the fldigi_def.xml.zip file and save a new one.

I hope this tip is useful and used.

Yes, I know fldigi generates a fldigi_def.xml-old file that is useful for linux users; however, it not very useful for OS X users. I don't use it.

Ps: You can do the same with your fldigi.prefs and macros. mdf files
