Thanks for the note.  Your response let me know it must be an operator issue. When I got the tip from Pete KB3WTP, it became obvious I had missed one of the many fldigi check box options in setting up my wife's MacBook Pro to test the Hover Popup issue. I forgot or failed to realize two options have to be checked to get this feature of fldigi to work. I had checked the UI/General "Show tooltips" but failed to realize or check the UI/Logging "callsign tooltips in received text".  Once checked, BINGO the hover over call sign popup stated working.

Thanks again for letting me know it was not an Apple MacBook or OS X issue.

I hope this relearning exercise on my part is useful to other fldigi users.
