Originally I wanted to talk to people far away or "around the world".

Just using the radio, I could hear people all over the states, Mexico. In Mozambique,
iced up signals from all over the place. No one ever seems to hear me.

I figured, gathered, assumed that PSK-31 was less complicated on the signal side.

If PSK-31 means you use the computer to control the rig, then yes. The software
packages out there, that claim Mac compatibility also have PSK-31 in the feature
list. So i'm under the impression they are one in the same. Not sure how you get
the signal on the screen and send a message without controlling the rig. Something
needs to key the mic, or do you press the mic and push send at the same time? That
seems broken, but maybe I made to big of an assumption.

I did not think that was necessary to have a (digital) conversation. So I did not consider it.

Just looking to talk to someone, audibly or digitally.

PSK-31

Talk to someone. =]

It seems that when I ask for help, I explain what I have, and then i'm told to
but this or that. The Digimaster Pro+ being the last thing I purchased. But the
drivers seem to be a mess, also.

Thanks for asking Dave.

I just want to make a connection. Oh, forgot to mention the Alinco DM-330MV.

Thanks again,
