All,
Recently I've worked with several individuals who were interested in
running JT65-HF and/or JT-Alert on a Mac using Crossover for Mac. As a
result of these exchanges, I've compiled most of the data into a file in
order to make it available to more Mac users who may be interested in
JT65-HF, but don't know how to get it installed. The file can be found
at: http://www.k3dcw.net/web_documents/Crossover.pdf
These instructions are written for the use of Crossover for Mac, but will
also largely apply to Linux users of Crossover. Furthermore, they can be
adapted to WINE with some ease, although I STRONGLY recommend the use and
support of Crossover. The instructions are also written with the US
Interface Navigator in mind, but can easily be used for any USB Audio
device and for just about any COM port.
Details are provided on getting Crossover and JT65-HF up and running
first. Then I tackle PTT. Finally, I add in JT-Alert.
I don't provide tutorials on how to configure and operate JT-Alert or JT65
due to the wide variety of possible configurations and the fact that there
are already tutorials and guidance available on-line. I am simply focused
on getting them to run in Crossover.
As a note: I recently updated my JT-Alert installation from v1.5.9 to v1.6
and encountered some problems. I haven't had time to track down the cause
yet, so until I do, I recommend v1.5.9 if you are going to follow these
directions.
I have no affiliation with Codeweavers, the developers of Crossover. I
simply like their product, it works, and my support of it further supports
the downstream WINE effort.
Hope this is of use to someone,
