[Ham-Mac] Problem Installing FTDI USBSerialDriver

Bill:
Thanks for the feedback but I not sure that this is what is going on.
All of the Adding FTDI driver, then Removing, then Adding, occurs when I
boot up and the keyer is turned on - or conversely, when I turn the
keyer on and the computer is running.
So, by the time I launch Skookum the driver has already been Added,
Removed, then Added again. Skookum sees a driver name, as does
MacLoggerDX, but again, no communication.
So, it is a chicken and egg thing. You may very well be correct that
this is an implementation issue regarding the Winkeyer compatibility -
however, I get the _exact _same results from a microHam product as I do
with the Hamgadgets Masterkeyer - this may be coincidence and may be not.
So, I am curious as to why the system Adds, then Removes, then Adds the
driver again. This does not happen with the UART_USB driver that is used
to communicate with the Icom 7600...it is Added and that is it and it works.
Thanks

AMSerial error code 100 means that the attempt to read the response to the Winkeyer echo test admin command has timed out with nothing read. That tells me that the serial driver is working and the device itself is not: either it doesn’t fully implement the Winkeyer command set, or it is in a bad state. If it were a real Winkeyer I’d advise you to learn how to reset it.
