Rod KF5JRA,

QSO logging can be confusing and it depends on how you want to keep your station logs.

If you are only using cocoaModem and MLDX, you need to add a special AppleScript that you should be able to get from the MLDX web page. Check out cocoaModem Preferences/AppleScript/QSO logs and select script you download form MLDX. When you use the cocoaModem "Log" button, the QSO will be logged direct to MLDX. The same applies if you use cocoaModem with Aether. It just uses another script.

For daily QSO's I use the fldigi built-in Logbook. Then several times each month I export from fldigi to LoTW and to my primary log in Aether. There is an option where you can have fldigi log direct to Aether; however, I prefer to log within fldigi and export later. I am not aware of an fldigi option to log direct to MLDX; however, the fldigi export option in the standard .adif format can be easily imported to MLDX.

All of the above logging info has nothing to to do with with your SignaLink USB interface. You have to point the program you are using (cocoaModem or fldigi) to SignaLink (USB Audio CODEC). It sounds like you figured it out in using fldigi. I am not a cocoaModem user but you have to make the modem (PSK-31 or whatever) active using the Window/Config pane and select the USB Audio CODEC option. Your SignaLink USB should work with either application.

I used to have a SignaLink USB but sold it when I got he Kenwood TS-590S that has an option for a direct USB interface to the iMac eliminating the need for the SignaLink and the Serial to USB adapter for rig control. There are number of SignaLink USB users that should be able to help you. One very nice feature of the SignaLink USB is the TX knob on the face of the unit to help you fine tune to drive to the rig and to control the ALC.

Sorry, I am not up to speed with the Icom IC-735.

Still no joy with MLDX and Cocoamodem so I decided to shut those two programs down and bring up flrig and fldigi. After plugging in the needed information and telling it the hardware I had I was able to make a contact on 20m using psk.
