Other than what has been said already, I would mention that the audio drivers in fldigi seem to get quite upset under Lion if you have multiple USB audio devices with the same name.
I have a tigertronics signalink USB and a generic audio card on my US Bus. Both of the devices present as 'USB Audio CODEC' and this sends fldigi and other software using portaudio into fits, and then seg faults.

I managed to solve this by creating a composite device with a new name that includes ONLY the appropriate USB device... but that's a hack. Something isn't right in Lion and portaudio -- the device enumeration gets confused, but I haven't had time to debug this. I suspect that this only affects a very small minority of users with multiple sound cards. (Common if you do SDR and digital modes on your radios).
