Thank you to all who replied.

One suggestion was to download an OEM version from oemsecure,
but so far my bank is doing a good job of preventingany online purchases
without extensive verification.

What everyone says is true. My choice will be to discover the best
(least expensive) way (legally) to get my Dreamweaver and Photoshop
updated.

Thanks again.

Apple has already announced that this will not be the case for 10.7 (Lion). Rosetta is going away, so we will only be able to run Intel-only programs. I have several important applications that still run in PPC mode, so I will make sure these are upgraded or a substitute is found before upgrading whenever the new OS is released. One is an engineering drawing program to replace Canvas X. Haven't found one I like yet...

You might also be able to do without Photoshop entirely, if iPhoto's touchup tools are enough. Also consider Aperture and GraphicConverter, both of which do nice image work. Aperture has an academic price, and Graphic Converter is cheap.
