I should know better but I screwed up and turn the rig OFF
before trying to close fldigi and it hung big-time.
I had to use the OS X Force Quit to close fldigi. Whatever
happened was bad as I could not restart fldigi. I had a major
case of the dancing dock icon with both fldigi-3.20.34 and
3.21.0AW. The solution was to restart the Mac and all was
well again.
If you are a Mac user, try to remember to exit fldigi before
turning off your rig. Most of the time fldigi will do its
thing for a few seconds (generating an Event log item) then
quit. Sometimes you will get the nasty hang like I experienced.
If you get burned, just restart the Mac and all will be well
again.
The problem may be unique to my setup with the Keyspan USA-28X
Serial to USB adapter for rig control. Newer adapters are
probably better.
Happy New Year
