You terminal tips worked fine; however, I could not find the files installed by
the Silicon Labs installer. The problem and reason for wanting to remove
the SL USB to UART Bridge Drivers is I screwed up and installed the drivers
on the Mac OS X side and I should have downloaded the Windows version
and installed them from XP Pro under VMWare or whatever.
I have a new Kenwood TS-590S and Kenwood only offers PC support software
for rig control and firmware updates. The Kenwood software requires the use
of a virtual COM 3 port and they only offer PC software to create the required
virtual USB port.
I was advised the Silicon Labs had a new Mac version of the software. To make
a long shaggy-dog story shorter, I downloaded the OS X version and installed
okay but did not work. The Silicon Labs installer does not have an uninstaller
and that is why I have been trying to uninstall the OS X drivers.
The good news is under XP Pro I downloaded and installed he correct drivers
and have the Kenwood TS-590S software running on the iMac and I should be
good for the next TS-590s firmware update. The bad news is trying to undue
what the Silicon Labs installer put on the iMac.
When your terminal tip did no find the files, I sent a help request to Silicon
Labs and look forward to a response early next week.
Thanks again for the help

Ps: Love the new Kenwood TS-590S
