[Ham-Mac] OT: upgrading to Lion

Apologies for the OT nature of this posting.

I have a macbook running Lion happily and now would like to upgrade my
(Intel) Mac Mini from Snow Leopard. I would really like to strip everything
off the Mac Mini and then do a fresh install of Lion, which I have saved on
a memory stick. I have an up-to-date backup in Time Machine, and could also
completely copy all of the files to another external 2TB drive. I also have
Windows XP running in Bootcamp and would prefer not to have to go through
all of that installation again although I imagine that since it is in a
separate partition that it will remain untouched. My itunes and iphoto
collections are on a separate USB hard drive. I would back all of these up
to DVD-rom first.

That's the background, my query is this; can I use what is stored in Time
Machine to restore the applications? Also, is there anything I've not
thought about? I have been looking through the various forums but haven't
found an answer that satisfies me, hence asking here, because I know that I
have an intelligent audience!

Thanks and 73,

Stephen G4SJP
