Here is MY experience with the microHAM DigiKeyer is:
(1) Works very FB with W7AY's cocoaModem; will directly key FSK port on radio (important to some) using W7AY's microRouter PTT keying utility.
(2) Works with some PTT keying issues with fldigi, keying via W7AY's microRouter utility; program will automatically start microRouter BUT will NOT exit the utility when quitting fldigi, you'll have to turn it off manually. Issue has been reported to the fldigi development team with no response to date.
(3) Works fine with KD6JDI's MultiScan SSTV program but with some PTT keying issues. There is a disconnect between W7AY's cocoaPTT keying utility and microRouter requiring you to toggle preferences to enable PTT when you start the program.
Also, the iMic works well with the WXtoImg weather satellite decoding program; obviously a receive only application here.
Bottom line, depending on what programs you plan to use, getting one of the VOX actuated PTT interfaces (signalLink for example) will minimize PTT keying issues but you won't be able to hardwire key the radio (important to some, not to others).
YMMV.
