Subject: [linuxham] Update on RFI and Right-Click Mouse Issue
Reference the problem I was having getting the mouse
right-click to bring up the fldigi popup while transmitting.
Until this morning I was convinced it was RFI related
and added a choke on the corded Apple Mighty Mouse.
I thought the choke fixed the RFI issue but noticed the
problem again when I was transmitting on 20 meters.
The problem is with my Apple Mighty Mouse because
the right-click works perfect using the XYL's Microsoft
wireless mouse on this Intel iMac.
I ran some tests this AM and confirmed the problem is
unique to 14 MHz and it did not mater what antenna
was being used. No RFI issues on other bands.
This seemed a little weird so as a test I redefined the
Apple Mighty-Mouse so when you depress the scroll
button it does a right-click.
I can now bring up the fldigi popup by pushing the scroll
button while transmitting on 14 MHz even when running
full power with the amp ON. The Mighty Mouse right-click
still does not work when I am transmitting on 14 MHz.
This tells me I may have defective mouse and will be
contacting AppleCare to replace the Mighty Mouse.
This is really a weird problem. Stay tuned to see if the
replacement mouse works.
Thanks for reading this shaggy dog RFI story.
