[Ham-Mac] packet/aprs mentor?

Hi all,
The last time I operated packet and aprs was in the early 90s with 
paKet5 (AUS) and an IBM PS2.

Now that I'm retired and don't have to own a PC & microsquish software 
to be compatible with my employer, I've been enjoying my macbook pro for 
almost two years.  Also, I'm starting to use my radios again (because I 
have time again), and there's an interest here locally to get back into 
packet and aprs.

Is there someone out here who'd like to share their 
successes/hints/tricks with me in the Mac world?  A private exchange is 
okay with me if this isn't a beneficial topic for public discussion.
