I am very surprised that MLDX doesn't, but it does appear that way from 
the comments.

Aside from it just residing in a data file, the data are kept fresh.
I suppose other things could be put into a data file for simplicity,
but THIS FILE, as you say, has a lot of accumulated data over years.

Wow, revision of software?  Possibly any change of any data
or any other type of file could constitute a "revision."  I suppose
it is a boring configuration management technicality.  Certainly,
a recompile of the main program would not be required.  Whether
we should call this a "revision" or a "configuration" is another issue
to some and likely unimportant here.
