Heh.  I don't think anything compares to MLDX, which is much more  
than logging software.  As a rookie myself I really appreciate how it  
makes a lot of things very easy.

Since my message to Dick a few minutes ago I went downstairs and  
fired up the rig to try that other Keyspan.

I can confirm the following combination works fine:
Yaesu FT-857D
Yaesu CT-62 CAT interface cable
Keyspan USA-19HS USB-serial (DB-9)
no null modem or other adapters
MLDX 4.2.7b12
Mac OS X 10.4.8
Macbook Pro

Now all I need is someone to answer my PSK CQ and I'll be in good shape.
