Hi Wolf,
I am using the internet now with the eMac connected
directly to the satellite modem, so I am able to use it.
I am very pleased with Wildblue and I chatted online
yesterday with their Tech Support.
They assured me that many people use routers, but
they do not support them. Unfortunately, mine is a
Airlink MIMO XR and does not work at this time and
I tried it all again. I reset it, etc etc. I doesn't work
either wired or wirelessly.
It is possible that it was damaged in the move to this
new location. What I shall do is purchase another
router at Fry's Electronics and see if it works.
VOIP does not work with satellite internet connections,
Wildblue included, despite their outstanding service
and technology. Not all connections are exactly equal.
I don't use VOIP, so no problem to me.
I believe the simplest would be to get a router to work
which is possible. If that becomes not as simple, I shall
try the eMac internet sharing.
Thank you, Brian
