[Ham-Mac] Need Ideas on USB-Serial Problems

This is a shot in the dark, and may sound dumb, but...

Are you sure you are using the right cables? They might work great  
with a modem, but maybe they need to be straight through?

This really sounds like a problem between the serial adapter and the  
radio(s).
