[Ham-Mac] Need Ideas on USB-Serial Problems

Hi, David....

Unfortunately I don't have a RS-232 test dongle, but I'm darn sure
thinking about acquiring one now!!!

I tried using a Belkin USB hub last year and gave up in disgust. The
Keyspan converters just didn't like it, so I started plugging in the
converters to the back of the iMac last year and they worked
perfectly until this latest switchover. I'm thrilled to know that Don
Agro has had some good experiences with recent ones, however, and will
give those a try after (if) I get this system working again.

I've received a few comments direct that indicate some people may have
been confused over some aspects of my problem, so I'll summarize:

- I don't blame the software since I know it works;
- I don't blame Leopard because this doesn't work using 10.3.9 on
another system;
- I don't blame the cables because they work fine with my TNC;
- I don't blame the Keyspan converters because all three of them work
with the TNC;
- I don't blame the iMac since I now have the same problem on a
PowerBook.

The only thing that seems common to everthing is the Keyspan drivers,
but I don't think I can blame them because others are using them
successfully in the same configurations as mine.

I'm running out of things to blame!!! ;-)
