Chris,
This is the first time I have every had an RFI problem. Never had one with
the old G4 even with a KW. This one is not the transmitter as it was very
easy to isolate and fix. No issue with the new 2.4 GHz iMac or the new
aluminum keyboard. The RFI issue was isolated down to the corded Apple
Mighty Mouse shipped with the new iMac. No RFI issues using my old Apple
Pro or my wife's Microsoft wireless mouse. The fix, thanks to Bill K1GQ,
was to disable or turn OFF button #4 on the Mighty Mouse. That solved the
problem and I don't use the Expose stuff anyway so it was no big loss. With
button #4 ON the useless Expose would flash with 75 to 100 watts. With the
Mighty Mouse button #4 OFF I can run the amp at full power two feet from the
iMac with no problems at all. I plan to pick up a ferrite clamp and see if
it will help where the USB cable attaches to the iMac. No rush as I am
happy with the button #4 turned OFF.
I would like to ditch the corded mouse and go with he Bluetooth wireless
Mighty Mouse. Anyone tried one in a high RF environment? The only negative
comment I have heard is the Bluetooth mouse is hard on batteries.
