[Ham-Mac] Fwd: monitors and vmware

I agree with Gerry, from the other side of the fence.
I used Parallels until VMWare became a released product, then
switched. Why? Well, not because one works much better than the
other (at least from my experiences so far), but because I am very
familiar with VMWare, the company... they are very seasoned, a big
player in the Virtual Computing world for many years... on PC's &
even mainframes. I have no idea who the people behind Parallels
are. Despite all this, having used both, I prefer the "look and
feel" of VMWare's product and it's what I will go forward with until/
unless I discover substantial reason to change.
I also agree about monitors, but my favorite is a Gateway FPD2485W,
which can usually be found for $500-600. And I usually avoid Gateway
products like the plague, but this one is stunning. Hook it up to a
Mac Mini (you could velcro a Mac Mini to the back for a "roll-your-
own" iMac!!) and it's a beautiful thing. Watch eBay for these, but
watch out for shipping costs.
Cheers to all,
