[Ham-Mac] Fwd: monitors and vmware

I have actually used both as part of my own product evaluation.
Outside of minor differences in the way options are laid out, and
some minor terminology differences, both products are in a dead heat.
VMware has considerable traction in the Enterprise community because
they've been around longer, but for the average Mac user I'd just
say, toss a coin.
As a matter of note, I actually use Parallels, but that's just
because as a reseller they gave me a license.
As far as monitors go, I use and recommend Dell. I know this sounds
odd for a Mac user, but their extended feature sets, cut-throat
prices, great warranties and reliability make them a true bargain.
Watch http://www.dealnews.com and wait for the lowest prices AND free
shipping, then buy. I have had a 2407WEP for 2 years now with
absolutely no complaints. It's got 2 USB 2.0 ports and 2 flash card
ports. It supports DVI, VGA, Composite, Component and S-Video inputs,
and even swivels. It also supports PIP. My Firewire iSight sits on
top, just like it belonged there. It came with a 3 year warranty. I'm
very pleased. Plus... I love the look on long-time friends faces when
I invite them up to see my new Dell!

Never ask a man what computer he uses.
If it's a Mac, he'll tell you. If it's not, why embarrass him?
