[Ham-Mac] OT but related -- BitTorrent Files

Does anyone have any experience downloading BitTorrent files?  I've  
tried a couple of OS X utilities that download these kinds of files  
but I'm having problems (I think) with opening up the ports (that's  
the EchoMac related part!) to allow these downloads.  With both  
utilities the downloads "start" but never go anywhere....I'm almost  
positive it's a port issue.  Have tried opening the suggested ports  
in both the OS X firewall prefs and in my wireless router (a process  
that does work for EchoMac).
