Those 3rd party USB devices will get you every time.  Glad you found the
answer. Now you need to figure out how to make work.  My setup is very picky
on what device gets to use the real USB ports.  The external USB adapters
gave me fits until I added a Belkin PCI/USB card.  Try swapping some of the
USB ports and see if that helps.

Hope to work you in the BARTG this weekend.  We should be able to work on 40
meters.
