He's talking about a USB mic so the iMic wouldn't apply.

I wonder how he is coming after all the suggestions.

Jerry, if you haven't gotten it to work via System Preferences I  
would suggest you try a different USB port, Although, mine works fine  
from the keyboard on my iMac.
