i am coming to that conclusion. I have looked in the trash folders on 
both drives with File Buddy and there is nothing actually in either 
of them. The fact that I can't dismount the second drive adds to this 
conclusion.

Running Disk Utility didn't finds anything on the boot drive and it 
couldn't dismount the second drive to check that one. I am about 
ready to erase that drive.
