[Ham-Mac] The dark lining in the silver cloud

All

The thing I worry about is that in two years' time the only kind of
PC, desktop or laptop, most of us will be able to buy will have an
Intel CPU in it. If Intel builds in the kind of Digital Restrictions
Management (DRM) that Hollywood has been demanding, you won't have a
choice about skipping the coming attractions and other ads on a DVD,
pulling a still from a DVD or a short audio clip from a CD. And you
may not be able to run Linux or other "unsigned" binaries on your
shiny new hardware either.

Strikes me about as smart as seat belt interlocks -- remember them,
back in '74? Lasted exactly one model year. But that was when you
still had some choices.
