I will second Don's suggestion.  I have my SL1+ connected to my  
Kenwood TS-2000 via the crazy 13 pin accy port on that transceiver.
They had a cable all ready which made this VERY easy.  Perfect for  
PSK31 & RTTY!

Sound comes from/to the Mac using a Griffin iMic

I been having a lot fun with this exploring digital modes. It also  
great system for recording audio from the radio into the computer.
