for a basic tutorial on building Widgets.   I can think of lots of  
useful applications of the Widget technology for amateur radio,  
including call sign lookup, grid reference locator (two-way, either  
by zip code to find the grid, or by grid to find the location). Other  
applications might include inductance and capacitance calculators  
(several are available on the Internet as a model), a translator for  
resistor color codes into ohm values, etc.
