[Ham-Mac] dashboard widgets

I¹m finally going to upgrade from 10.3 to tiger ­ looking forward to playing
with widgets and maybe even building some (I understand they are just Java)
- could people point me at a good source of information on widgets etc ­
I¹ve looked at http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/ but don¹t see any
documnetation about them.

Another question ­ my brother-in-law uses a PC (inlaws!) and has widgets on
hs desktop ­ using Yahoo widget Engine ­ are the widgets compatible?
