[Ham-Mac] Norton's Systemworks 3.0 and Tiger

Wes,

Of course it's perverse. But evil exists.

I'm glad to hear from all of you that no viruses exist (yet). Still,
some do exist which attack email accounts such as Outlook - so I'm
happy to stay away from Microsoft products as much as I can. I guess
I assumed they existed because (1) I saw Apple creating these
security "updates" and (2) Virex issuing new virus update files.
Maybe it's all a hoax to make us buy more products we don't really need.

Still, I'd rather be safe than sorry. A funny story (not funny at
the time):

My ex-wife once got a virus on here OS9 system. I had warned her not
to respond to unsolicited email from unknown senders, but she
ignored me (symptomatic). Anyway, one night I was awakened at 2 am
(she was a night owl) to find a deputy sheriff in my house peering
over my distraught wife's shoulder at her Mac. The virus was sending
her perverse, nasty emails in SPANISH as it was destroying every
other file it could find.

She had called 911! She thought I was doing this to her, somehow (no
I am not competent enough in Spanish to know that kind of language).
My ex actually thought the sender was a real person. Once I realized
what was going on - ti became rather funny (not to my ex though).
The deputy was bemused. What a night. I think the virus came from
Columbia...

Since then, I believe anything is possible.
