If you subscribe to the .mac system (as most users of OS X do, I
understand), you can also simply copy a file to your Pubic folder,
which anyone (Mac or PC) can access.

Here's how it's done (copied from .mac Help files):

To create a file sharing page:

    1. Go to www.mac.com and click HomePage on the .Mac tab.

Tip: If you're already logged in, you can also click the
HomePage button on the .Mac main page.
    2. Click the File Sharing tab and choose an iDisk Public Folder
page.
    3. If necessary, make changes to the text.

Note: You cannot change the names of folders or files in your
iDisk Public folder from a file sharing page. To do this, open your
iDisk Public folder and make the changes. The file sharing page
automatically updates and displays the new folder or file names.

IMPORTANT: Anyone with an Internet connection can visit this page and
download copies of your files (even if you password-protected your
iDisk's Public folder using iDisk Utility or Mac OS X version 10.3 or
later). Therefore, it's a good idea to use a password to protect any
site that contains a file sharing page. See the help topic
"Protecting your site" for more information.

The instructions should add here:
4. Click the "Publish" button.

At that point, .mac will give you a specific URL for the public file
sharing folder, such as:

http://homepage.mac.com/USERNAME/FileSharingXX.html

where USERNAME is your .mac account name, and xx is the folder number
assigned by the .mac system.

There are several different "looks" available for the file sharing
folder.

See, for example
