Brian - When I upgraded the shack G3 All-in-One to OSX, I purchased a copy
of OSX 10.2 used on the low end mac swap list. It ran about $35 or so. This
was before 10.4 was released.

I upgraded the AIO to OS9 and then to OS 10.2 and then upgraded to 10.2.8.
Somewhere along the way I reformatted the disk after backing up on a CD RW.

Previously I upgraded the procesor to a 400 MHz G3 and upped the memory to
384 MB, both purchased on the LEM Swap list. I also installed a USB card. It
all works pretty well. It runs CocoaModem with no noticible slowing and that
is a pretty exacting application.

I couldn't get the audio in to work after the upgrade, so I bought an iMic.
That works fine. I also have a bit of trouble with the screen being dim when
it awakes from sleep, but I taake care of that with the display control
panel. Someone told me that I could solve both these problems with X Post
Facto, which apparently installs the correct drivers, which Apple neglected
for the AIO. But I can live with this.

When I get brave I will try XPost Facto to get it up to OS 10.3. I usually
run an OS or 2 behind the times. I hope that this helps. - Duffey
