[Ham-Mac] trouble with EchoMac

Hi--I heard about this group from Steven Palm.  I've registered and 
downloaded EchoMac, but can't connect to the station I want in 
Ottawa (Canada).

When I double-click on the station, a message appears at the 
bottom of the left-hand box that says Connecting.  There's a server 
(in Atlanta) listed in the right-hand box.  After about a minute the 
message Connecting changes to Disconnected.  

I've tried other stations just as a test; I can connect to them (at 
least their calls show up in the Connected To line.  I think they can 
hear me, but I can't hear them.

I'm using a brand-new G4 laptop, with its built-in speakers and 
mike.

Any suggestions?
