Have we sent Joe over to:

http://www.machamradio.com/

to see what's around for OS X?

And Joe -- the hardest thing you'll find when switching over, is that
on the Mac, you'll do the same things you don on your PC with half
the commands!

And no one mentioned AppleWorks. Apple's really cheap answer to MS
Office. Draw, paint, type, spreadsheet -- for practically nothing!

My favorite mac story:
Friend of my wife worked up a personal job PC Excel spreadsheet at
her office and saved it to a floppy. Erased the job on the office
computer. Went home, put the floppy in her home PC -- and it wouldn't
be recognized. In a panic, brought it here to put in one of MY
ancient PCs (freebies, long out of date) -- and it wouldn't open
there, either.

Soooooooo, I stuck it in my old Power Computing PowerCenter150 Mac
clone, and VOILA! Hello File! Saved it to the HD, reformatted the
floppy as a PC floppy on my Mac, put the file back, and all was
peaceful in the world once again.

Macs ROCK!
