I know this isn't the question you are asking - but for what it's worth
- MacLoggerDX, MacDopplerPRO X and MacMemoriesManager licenses are
keyed to you and your call signs and are good on as many computers as
you want to use them on.

It's gonna be slower than firewire - but better for ad-hoc "Oh heck I
forgot that file" situations. iSync is somewhat useful for keeping the
gazillion bookmarks and things synced.

I have several small firewire drives that I find invaluable.
Check out both CarbonCopyCloner and psync (if you haven't already) they
make mirroring data without needlessly copying unchanged data a breeze.
Amongst the computers here I use a combination of firewire copies,
target mode copies, network (LAN) copies and iSync/.mac (WAN) copies.
