I would respectfully disagree on that point Don, but then again, I
don't have anything to loose by someone writing an app competing with
anything I've done and that has to influence your position on the
issue.

Personally, I'm in favor of freeware, plain and simple. Especially for
a hobby market like Ham radio. I'd love to see people who are earning a
living elsewhere (or writing non-Ham programs) use some free time to
build better Ham software for free, after all, it's a hobby. ;-)

Now, if you choose to try to make a go of a full time income off of
just Amateur Radio software, more power to you, and I wish you the best
of luck, but at the same time I'd still be looking (myself) for free
versions of any software to do what you need to do, at least with basic
competency. If you need a high-end Pro app, then you might be willing
to pony up some serious bucks, but for something I'd use a few times a
month at most I'm not up to paying a huge chunk of change.

And yes, I'm thankful for the work done by Don, Chris and others.
Salute! I just wish there was more freeware such as that which exists
on the Windows platform. Owning a Mac shouldn't mean having to pay more
at every turn in the road just to play, you'll not grow your user base
that way.

Anyway, this has gotten off topic, and I better shut up before I hurt
someone's feelings, because I wish no animosity to anyone and am not
trying to tell anyone that what they are doing is wrong, because it's
not. But I can dream of a world full of free Mac Ham software, can't I
? :-)
