[Ham-Mac] USB input using Griffin iMic - G5

I have been trying to use the Griffin iMic on my G5 (Panther) for 
input from my Orion.  (I have been using "audio line-in" and it works 
just fine - however, I have hear from another ham who is using the 
Griffin iMic on h is G4 and since I have one, I have been trying to 
get it  to work.  It used  to work on my old G4)

Under sound in the System Preferences - input- I have selected" iMic 
US audio system - USB" and have moved it to almost full volume.  I 
don't get anything.  Any ideas??
