The good news is I can get darwinpsk by Tom Dove "K3ORC" to load under Mac
X11 and can even run the 'rtty2.wav' RTTY demo file. It looks great and the
waterfall display is really cool. The bad news is I have not been able to
get the application to hear anything via the Mac G4 and Kenwood TS-570.

Rather than messing with hard wires at this time I have been trying to use
the Apple mic that works perfect with EchoMac on this Mac G4. I know the
mic works; however, it can't get it connected to the darwinpsk.

Maybe someone can offer some suggestions on how to get the cotton out of
darwinpsk's ears.

So you understand what I am doing.....I go to the 'LinPSK General Settings'
and unchecked the 'Demomod' box and opened another X11 terminal session and
made sure the esound was active by doing

[G4-450:/sw/bin] dickkris% ./esd
using device Built-in audio controller for output:
with sample rate 44100.000000, 2 channels and 32-bit sample
using device Built-in audio controller for input:
with sample rate 44100.000000, 2 channels and 32-bit sample

The sound comes on and the Mac speakers confirm the above. I then go back to
the LinPSK window and get a green dot when I click on the RX box. That's
all folks and NOTHING happens. The application seems dead.... like an old
time Mac screen freeze. I cannot move the sliders or get the RX box to
change to TX.

I must be doing something wrong and could use some help to jump start
darwinpsk. I realize some have had success with USB mics. Has anyone been
able to get darwinpsk to run on a G4?
