Dear Volker:
You may have been missing the boat. The AOL/AIM version of Netscape
has been available for free for several years ago and iChat is simply
Apple's version of AIM made better (of course)

What this version means of course is that a whole multitude of ham
users, not not only the more inteleetual sic, can use iChat but also
those without the pretty boxes. One should note AIM is available for
free for download with Netscape and is interchangeable for use with
iChat.

BTW we have been running a "private"local 6 meter DX chat room with
Netscape AIM for over 2 years now, things simply get better.

I would note that I am sitting here with my pretty white box iMac at
the hospital recuperating from a triple bypass operation (sucessful).
One would amazed at the comments such as "what a great looking
computer", "where can I get one of those for my kids in college" i.e.
but alas it is not a perse gaming machine, you can actually do stuff
useful besides games.

Not to miss an opportunity (I am an attorney) I have been sending
Apple commission invoices and simply await my new found riches.
